Registration for the 43rd Warsaw Marathon with the traditional path are now open

The second stage for registration is now open! From the 12th of May, at noon all runners will be able to sign up for the 43rd Warsaw Marathon with the traditional path (filling in the form and paying the fee). As of now, there are still 1 643 available spots, with the total limit of participants of 3 000.

This year, for the first time in history the registration  process was divided into 2 stages, with the first one only open with the #BiegamDobrze charity patch. Considering the limited number of participants we wanted to show our appreciation to all of our runners who make the Warsaw Marathon not only a sporting event, but also a great social event where our partner NGOs can expand their possibilities of spreading good and helping the ones that need it the most. The participants who transferred their fee from the 42nd PZU ORLEN Warsaw Marathon in time have their spot guaranteed.

The second stage of registration starts on the 12th of May.

From that point the traditional path of registration will also be available – filling in the form and paying the fee. You still can register with the #BiegamDobrze charity path, but you have to raise the minimum required amount before the limit of 3 000 registered participants is reached.

The #BiegamDobrze fundraisers will remain active

Every charity path participant can still continue to raise more money, but you need to raise the minimum required amount (PLN 450) before the limit of 3 000 participants is reached to be able to take part in the race. If you won’t be able to reach the required minimum your hard work won’t go to waste and all the money you raised will still be donated to the NGO of your choosing.

You can also give up on the charity patch and pay the regular registration fee. In the registration panel now you can find an option to resign from the #BiegamDobrze charity path and change to the regular path. To do that, after logging in on https://rejestracja.maratonwarszawski.com/en/ go to the ”Your events” tab and choose „ Resign from charity” with your 43rd Warsaw Marathon form. You will be able to change the path of your registration as long as the limit of 3 000 participants is not reached. Till that limit is reached you can register with the traditional path and make sure you will be a part of the 43rd Warsaw Marathon. All of the funds raised by the participants who resign from the charity path will be donated to the NGO chosen while registering.

Ballot results

Dear runners,

All of you have been sent an email and a text message concerning the draw and your participation in the event. Individuals who have qualified to the real marathon race will be able to pick among four heats on the first-come-first-served-basis. The heats will be closed automatically once the limit of 250 is reached. Please have in mind both the times of the heats and the time limits for each.

The selection form will be available starting Friday, August 14, 3 p.m. until Monday, August 17, noon. A failure to pick a heat by that time will trigger a random selection of a heat for this runner.

If you failed to be qualified for the real marathon make sure to take part in the virtual race; make sure to check your email for details of getting a refund or transfer to other Warsaw Marathon Foundation events. If you choose to transfer your entry money to the 2021 edition you will get an entry in the 2020 virtual marathon totally free. We hope you stay with us!

42nd Warsaw Marathon will take place on September 26th and 27th 2020!

Dear runners,

Over the last few months, we have been working hard to organise this event in the safest way possible for you, for our volunteers, for ourselves and following current sanitary rules. We also undertook, together with the Association of Mass Events Organizers, a series of actions aimed to enable as many runners as possible to take part in the 42nd edition of Warsaw Marathon – symbol of persistence and tradition in sport. Only now we can tell you that this tradition of over 40 years will not be interrupted and we are more than happy to  invite you to the 42nd edition of the race.

This year Warsaw Marathon will look differently, because the reality is now very different. The current limit of participants who can simultaneously compete on the route is 250 people. Therefore, we will do it 4 different times! On September 26th and 27th 1000 participants will run through the streets of Warsaw in 4 separate rounds, competing on a 5k loop in the heart of our city. We would like to thank everyone who made this possible. We also know that these kind of events are the ones you remember best.

At this moment nearly 2000 participants have paid their fee. Thank you for your trust. Because of the limit mentioned earlier the registration for the race is now closed and tomorrow a questionnaire will appear on the profiles of runners who already have their starting number assigned. By completing it you will be able to confirm your willingness to participate in the race or, for example, transfer your registration to next year’s edition of the marathon. If there are more people willing to start than there are available places on the list, a draw will be conducted on Thursday. You can find all the details about participants selection in race’s regulations on our website.

We know that some of you will be disappointed with the inability to participate in this year’s event. This is why we want to give you an opportunity to participate anyway. We would like to invite you all to take part in the virtual race. We will do everything to make you feel like participants of the real event while running on your favorite routes. Warsaw Marathon has never once stopped on its 42-year route. You shouldn’t stop either, be part of the history! To make this virtual race even more exciting it will be connected to our #BiegamDobrze charity. Last year we raised together 1.5 million zloty for different charity organisations.

We believe that this year’s event will not only be remembered by the difficult times we live in, but also by the amount of good we managed to do together. In the virtual race you will be able to participate on 4 different distances: 5k, 10k and half marathon and marathon. All the details about the virtual race, charity fundraisers and registration will be available on August 14th on event’s website.

On the marathon’s website you will soon find a preview of what the safety measures implemented during the event will look like, as well as all the details and answers to your questions.

Do your running and stay with us, we believe that the medal from this year’s edition will have a special place in many collections.

Distribution of slots in the 42nd Warsaw Marathon – the rules>>>

We will run on September 27th

42nd Warsaw Marathon will take place on September 27th 2020, regardless what the time brings us. The event format will be adapted to the current epidemiological conditions and scenarios for different options are being developed.

We are prepared for a situation in which the organisation of events for up to thousand or ten thousand participants is allowed, but also for one with highest restrictions. We are fully aware that many of our runners are waiting for an opportunity to participate in na race, but the truth is that this is an extraordinary situation and we have no control over it. At this moment in time no one knows how will following weeks and moths look like. Regardless – the race will take place as always on the last Sunday of September. The format of the race will be determined during the summer months.

The Warsaw Marathon has been held continuously for 41 years and it has permanently entered the sport calendars of this country and its capital. It wasn’t stopped by martial law, by the lack of interest in running in the 90s or by the sudden surrender of the former organisers of this event. This year’s edition is facing a difficult test which is why we are determined to continue the history of Warsaw Marathon as a symbol of its perseverance.
