Race guide

We have gathered all the most important tips regarding the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon for you. How will the organization of the event look like in the last weekend of September? Check out the answers to the most frequently asked questions!

Registrations for our races are conducted online on the dedicated website >>>

Signing up for the race will also be possible in person at the Office of the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon, with the reservation that the total pool of start numbers for people registering after September 27, 2024, and available at the Office of the Race is 200.


STARTING FEES

Details regarding fees for the race bib – basic package:

46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon:

  • Until March 31, 2024: 66 EUR
  • From April 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024: 75 EUR
  • From July 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024: 90 EUR
  • From September 1, 2024, to September 26, 2024: 105 EUR
    Participants born on September 29, 1959, or earlier are eligible for a 25% discount on the basic starting fee (package without a T-shirt) applicable at the time of payment.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Participants have the option to order additional options and services:

  • New Balance technical T-shirt: 20 EUR
  • Cotton T-shirt: 12 EUR
  • Cancellation option: 10 EUR
  • Medal engraving: 6 EUR

RACE BIB PICK-UP

The race bib for the upcoming 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon can be collected at the Race Office located in the Palace of Culture and Science (Plac Defilad 1, entrance from Marszałkowska Street).

Race Office Opening Hours:
• September 27, 2024 (Friday) – 14:00 – 20:00
• September 28, 2024 (Saturday) – 10:00 – 20:00

ATTENTION! On the day of the race, the Race Office will not be open.

Remember – queues form at the opening of the office! If possible, avoid coming at the very beginning to avoid crowds. We are open all day – you will have plenty of time to pick up your race packet.

  • If you are picking up the race bib in person, it will be issued based on a photo ID.
  • If you wish for someone else to pick up the race bib on your behalf, please print and sign the race card (available for download from your participant profile – YOUR RACES -> DOWNLOAD RACE CARD) and include a copy or photo of your photo ID. With these two documents, another person will be able to collect your race packet.

HOW TO GET TO THE RACE OFFICE?

As usual, we recommend using public transportation! The Race Office is located in the Palace of Culture and Science – you can get there by metro – either from Centrum station (M1 line) or Świętokrzyska station (M1 and M2 lines).

Runner! Take advantage of public transportation and plan your arrival well to pick up your race packet! Don’t leave your visit to the Race Office until the last minute!


#BIEGAMDOBRZE

Charitable runners! During your visit to the Expo, be sure to visit the booth of the organization you are running for as part of the #BiegamDobrze (#IRunWell) campaign. Representatives of all organizations will be waiting for you at the Race Office throughout its opening hours!

The fundraising for individuals who have not reached the minimum donation amount ends on August 31, 2024. After this date, there is still a chance to register through the traditional pathway.

For those who have reached or exceeded the minimum donation amount, fundraising will continue until October 4, 2024.

3. Select the DOWNLOAD RACE CARD button.


RACE PACKET CONTENTS

At the Race Office, participants receive race packets containing, among other things: a race bib with a timing chip, safety pins, a deposit bag, and, if the appropriate package option is selected, a commemorative T-shirt.


SPORT&FITNESS EXPO 

As always, we invite you to visit the Sport & Fitness Expo. Right next to the Race Office at the Palace of Culture and Science, you’ll find booths with a wide range of sports equipment, running gadgets, and supplements. It’s also a great opportunity to talk to experts or make some last-minute pre-race purchases.

The Expo will be open during the Race Office’s working hours.


RUNNER’S VILLAGE

The Warsaw Marathon is a celebration not only for runners but also for their families, supporters, and all residents of Warsaw. Together with our partners and invited institutions, we are preparing a variety of attractions in the Runner’s Village for everyone.

The village will be open on Saturday and Sunday. You’ll find a gastro and entertainment zone for both young and old, a stage with a rich schedule of events, a resting area, and opportunities to win prizes in contests. We warmly encourage you to visit the Runner’s Village – whether you’re participating in the races or cheering on the sidelines.

HOW TO GET TO THE START – SUNDAY

The number of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the race start is very limited. We recommend arriving at the start using public transportation – either the Centrum station (M1) or the Świętokrzyska station (M1 and M2).

Remember that on the day of the race, you can use public transportation in the 1st ticket zone free of charge, based on your race number.

Free “cardboard” multi-use entry tickets allowing access through the metro barriers will be available for collection at the INFO point in the Race Office. Those who ordered the packet by mail will find the tickets in the envelope with the race number.


STARTING TIME AND LOCATION

  • Start of the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon – September 29, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
  • Participants using wheelchairs with direct drive start from the front line at 8:57 AM.

All races will start from Emilii Plater Street.


START ORGANIZATION

During all races, the starting line will be closed approximately 10 minutes after the starter’s signal.

ATTENTION! Stand in the designated zone according to the marking on your race bib – the zones will be marked with flags along the start.

Allocation to a specific zone is based on the participant’s declared result provided in the registration form. Editing the declared result is possible until August 31, 2024. Participants who pay the entry fee after August 31, 2024, are not guaranteed allocation to the time zone based on the declared result.


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

The right to participate in the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon is exclusively reserved for individuals who will turn 18 years old by September 29, 2024 (born before September 29, 2006).


RACE ROUTE

The race course will be presented shortly.

ATTENTION! For safety reasons, it is prohibited to move along the race course without a race bib, as well as to use bicycles, Nordic walking poles, skateboards, scooters, and other mechanical devices, as well as to bring animals. Individuals violating this prohibition will be removed from the course by race staff. The exception applies to individuals holding passes issued by the organizer.


START OF PARTICIPANTS IN DIRECT DRIVE WHEELCHAIRS

Participants in direct drive wheelchairs are allowed to start. These participants, after completing the registration form indicating their desire to start in a wheelchair, should send a scan of the document confirming their disability to info@maratonwarszawski.com.

Participants in wheelchairs with indirect drive (e.g., hand-bike) and rim-push wheelchairs are not allowed to start.


NUTRITION POINTS

  • All participants of the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon receive: the opportunity to use nutrition points along the race route and a recovery package at the finish line (a drink and a meal).
  • Nutrition points along the route of the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon, equipped with water, will be placed at intervals of approximately 2.5 kilometers starting from the 5th kilometer. Additionally, every other point starting from the 10th kilometer will offer isotonic drinks and bananas.
  • Remember that each nutrition point covers approximately 100 meters. You don’t have to rush to the first table right away – by heading to the further tables, you can avoid crowding at the first one.
  • Nutrition points always begin and end with water tables. Detailed information about the products available at each point can be found on the route maps.ATTENTION! Alongside each nutrition point, on the same side of the route, “drop zones” will be set up where you can dispose of your cup. Please make sure to dispose of trash in the designated area. This will help maintain cleanliness and prevent throwing cups in front of other runners and littering the roadside.

TOILETS ALONG THE MARATHON ROUTE

  • Near each of the nutrition points along the marathon route, there will be portable toilets available.
  • Toilets for individuals using wheelchairs with direct drive will be located along the route of the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon after selected nutrition points.

DEPOSITS

In the race packet, you will receive a bag for depositing items before the race. To deposit your belongings, you need to stick a sticker with your start number onto the bag, which you will find in your pack. To retrieve your deposit, you will need your start number.

The deposits will be located on vehicles. The number of the vehicle where you can deposit and later retrieve your belongings will be indicated on your start number. The vehicles with deposits will be located in the Runner’s Village area – under the Palace of Culture and Science from Marszałkowska Street. The exact location of the deposits will be shown on the Runner’s Village map.

The organizer is not responsible for valuable items left in the deposit.


CHANGING ROOMS

Before and after the race, participants will have the opportunity to use changing rooms. These will be located near the deposits.

PACEMAKERS

Pacemakers will help you achieve your desired finish time. Exact times will be published soon.


TIME LIMITS

The time limit to complete the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon is 6 hours and 30 minutes, counted from the starting gun. Additional time limits are: 3 hours and 15 minutes at the halfway point and 4 hours and 45 minutes at 30 km.


TIME MEASUREMENT

The timing is done using a chip embedded in your race number. Remember not to tamper with the chip protected by foam – take care of your race number.

The overall classification is based on net times (from crossing the start line). An exception is made for the first 200 individuals crossing the finish line – they are classified based on gross times (from the starting gun), provided that if among the first 200 finishers there are not at least 8 men and 8 women, the number of individuals included in this category will be increased to include them.

All additional classifications are based on net times (from crossing the start line).


RACE BIB

The race bib must be worn on the front of your attire. It must not be covered or modified in any way. Violating these rules will result in disqualification. You must present your race bib when entering the start area. Your race bib will indicate your assigned starting zone and the number of the vehicle where you can deposit your belongings.

ONLINE RESULTS

The results of the 46th Warsaw Marathon and accompanying events will be available online on the race website. After the race, each participant will also receive an SMS with their result.


HOW TO FOLLOW THE EVENT?

We will have for you:
– several Instagram channels broadcasting live from the heart of the race,
– live text coverage on MagazynBieganie.pl,
– camera and live view at the finish line,
– reporter insights on Facebook,
– and of course, online results.

All channels worth following along with links will be presented closer to the race.


BEYOND THE FINISH LINE

Marathon finishers will be able to enjoy a post-race meal and will also receive a drink at the finish line. More details closer to the race.


MEAL

Based on your race bib from the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon, you can enjoy a recovery meal. You will receive it in the athlete’s area (near the bag drop) based on your race number.


MASSAGES

The massage area for the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon will be located in the Runners’ Village. There will be special signs leading to the tent.

Massages are complimentary. Professional massage tables will be set up in the area, with dozens of massage therapists available.

MEDAL

The medal for the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon will be unveiled soon.

You can purchase a medal engraving in the registration form. The service will also be available for purchase on-site. The Grawerbus tent will be located within the event area.


T-SHIRT

The main race T-shirt will be presented soon.

You should select your T-shirt size in the registration form. Changing the T-shirt size is possible by editing the registration form, but no later than September 10, 2024.

NOTE! The stock of T-shirts in each size is limited, and we do not guarantee availability throughout the event.

T-shirts at the Race Office will be distributed according to the earlier declaration.


DECORATIONS

  • All participants who complete the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon will receive commemorative medals at the finish line.
  • The winners of places I – III in the overall classifications of men and women, as well as the winners of places I – III in the age classifications, will receive commemorative trophies.

RESIGNATION FROM PARTICIPATION

The participation fee for the race is non-refundable, non-transferable to another person, non-transferable to another future race, or exchangeable for a voucher.

An exception is when a participant chooses and pays for the “Refund Option” during registration. The cost of this service for the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon is 10 EUR and is non-refundable.

The purchase of this option is not possible at a later date, as with purchasing a shirt, shipping, or engraving.

After purchasing the option to resign, the participant acquires the possibility to resign from participating in the race without giving a reason and receiving a 100% refund of the entry fee, including any selected additional options, provided that the intention to resign from participation is reported by the deadline of September 26, 2024 (for picking up the start package at the Race Office) or September 7, 2024 (for utilizing the option of having the start package shipped).

Resignation should be processed by logging into your participant account on the website https://rejestracja.maratonwarszawski.com/ and selecting the “Resign from participation” button in the YOUR RACES tab.

INVOICE

Individuals who wish to receive an invoice for the registration fee should select the appropriate option in the registration form and provide the required information necessary to issue the document. The invoice will be automatically generated after the payment is processed and will be available for download from the participant’s profile by the 15th day of the month following the month of payment.

In accordance with tax regulations, due to the payment being made before the service is provided, a pro forma invoice covering the full amount of the registration fee will be issued. Therefore, the pro forma invoice also serves as the final invoice.

To receive a pro forma invoice, please send the following information to ksiegowosc@maratonwarszawski.com: invoice details, the number and list of participants (with registration numbers), along with information about the selected package option. Pro forma invoices are issued for the registration of at least two participants (it is not possible to receive a pro forma invoice for the registration of a single individual).


For group registrations, we do not process registrations collectively – each participant must register individually by completing the registration form >>>.

If you wish to pay for a group of individuals using a single transfer, each person in the group must register independently. Then, you should request a collective pro forma invoice. Here are the instructions:

  • During registration, participants should not indicate a desire to receive an invoice or enter their details into the form. They should also not pay for their registration.
  • To receive a pro forma invoice, please send the following information to ksiegowosc@maratonwarszawski.com: invoice details, the number and list of participants (with registration numbers), along with information about the selected package option and race.

Pro forma invoices are issued for the registration of at least two participants (it is not possible to receive a pro forma invoice for the registration of a single individual). After the payment based on the pro forma invoice is processed, all participants on the list will be assigned registration numbers.
